Vehicles in Germany's City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations show the liquid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.

City officials stated they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for details.

A high-ranking official stated the attack made him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
